Editing of asylum Project

My Edit for my asylum trailer

I used MPEG Streamclip to convert by clips what I did was click on file and added batch I made them QuickTime. I then made the clips 24fpm and made sure all the clips were the same.

After I had all my clips converted I went onto naming the clips I wanted to use for editing naming them something I would remember and something what has something to do with the scene.

My edit of my asylum trailer is one minute thirty seven seconds long including titles. The music I used for my edit was Killswitch engage Inhale and Twisted Sister Burn In hell.

The transitions I used for my edit were mostly dip to white or dip to black.I used a  flip over transition the shot is Bradley’s eyes and flips over to reveal the title of the film.

Tracks what I used for edit none of those tracks are own by me by I am using them for evolution reasons not for any profit.

In my edit the music starts slow with inhale and as the action of the trailer picks up burn in hell comes in as the fog appears.

I used two shot of our hero character in front of the green screen what I did is add a background the background I used was a corn field.

My trailer start slow and then get high and then slow down to show Bradley’s  line and then get higher again at the end when burn in hell cuts in again at the end when the release date comes up.

I used a close up on the girl in the park scene doing her dialogue what I noticed was lip syncing didn’t match up her lips and the dialogue didn’t fit.

In the office scene where the actor is laying back in his chair dead in my edit at the end of the shot Jai blinks.

I had a original exported edit I had scene in it what was apart of the bathroom scene where the girl looks around and walks to the sink what was cut out because a light appeared in the background.

Lighting The Inverse square law is when fall of light is closer to light is closer to the subject.  Greater the fall of around them is. when the the light is further away the greater the fall off will be.

the way you can take light of your subject or object you can either loses less light or turn down the apature.

The apature acts much like how your own eyes work it controls how much light goes in.  the apature basically is the eye inside the camera it opens and closes controlling how much light goes in or out. the can effect your exposure.

you can uses natural  lighting or a mixture of both natural and film lights. when using natural You might need to use a defuser to control the lighting.

Inverse square law Video

Above  shows  a video of me explain what the inverse square law.

Featured image  I this picture shows  shows the distance Tom is  from the light and the light spreading out on Tom’s face from a side view.

The contra zoom shot is where the camera goes into a subject and zooms out at the same time.the contra zoom gives a rushing effect on the sides contra zoom also gives the shot a barrel distortion . A good example of when the contra zoom is used is in Jaws   the beach scene to show the expression on  Brody’s face.

when you use a wide angle lens this will produces a wrap around effect which will bring the background around the view point with deep focus.

The less fall off you have the less dynamic range and low contrast more natural shadows and highlights of the spectrum is also visible, more like your own eyes.

Lenses

A 50mm lens is narrow vocal length what is close to how are own eyes work it is the closest to how we normally see objects and subjects. A 135mm telephoto lens is zoomed in is a lot more narrower.

A ND filter is used much like sunglasses are used on your eyes the ND Filter stops coming into your lens much like sunglasses keep the sun from going into your eyes.

Frame Rate

In Frame Rate in Europe and Australia is 25 Frames per second  what ever the frame rate is the Shutter speed will be doumble for Example if it is 25 frames per second it will 1/50th . The Shutter Speed will double once Frame rate is increased.

The Cinema  Frame rate is 24.48 frames per second and this is worldwide. In the US and japan the frame rate is different to Europe the frame rate in US and Japan is 29.97,30,23.98 Frames per.

These are the standards for Frame rates in these countries. Peter Jackson when he shot the Hobbit films he shot using 48 frames per second. what is almost double the standard cinema frame rate.

Recording Media

We use recording media to store are film footage if be tape or memory cards.
